Artist's Comments

The Winoctopus is the lesser-known cousin of the Kleptoctopus. They stay in the seas, hosting wine-tastings and posh parties that last far past the hour when most sensible octopus have gone to bed. They spend all their money on wine, and are usually broke. They will sit outside underwater convenience stores until passing kleptoctopus toss them enough spare keys and stolen socks to buy enough wine to host their next party.

My second digital art! This time I played with textures. It was excessively fun and took an excessively long time.

Sooo cute...

Reminds me of my anthro-pus Camille (in my user icon) except he prefers gin :XD:

LOL! You going to keep going on these? I love the background stories you write with these. VERY funny!! LOL!

All cephalopod-types love one alcohol or another. :D

Thanks!! Glad you like!

I'm still uploading slightly old stuff (i.e. a few months), and I have been doing a lot of cephalopods recently. They all have stories. :D

Ah, an excuse for him :D Tsk, you're an enabler~ :XD:

LOL! The little anecdotes are almost as much fun as your art, ~meg! ;) :D Do you write as well...?

This is wonderful--I love the little details: the spilled and tipping wine glasses, the discarded corkscrew, the almost loving caress of the bottle--and the little crab peeking over the ridge in the background, as though surveying the "aftermath!" Great mood, great colors and a wonderful scene to match your little story! The digital is obviously becoming much more comfortable for you--this looks terrific!

Aw, thanks! I love writing the little stories, but that's all I've ever written. It might be fun to write up a documentary about facetious cephalopods...

Thanks so much for your comments! I really enjoyed picking colors for this, but it printed out dull and all purple-toned. I need to tweak the colors to get good prints. So much to learn with digital! I am feeling a bit more comfortable, but this one took a long time. And my tablet isn't working properly right now... might have something to do with beer and Linux programming.

LOL! I imagine that trying to program anything while imbibing can lead to many and varied types of glitches... I'm lucky if I can get my machine up and running while stone-cold-sober! lol!

I'm not sure I see the "purple tones" you're refering to in this--maybe it's my monitor... Like I said--I'm technologically-challenged! :slow: ;)

Yeah - it looks fine on all the monitors I've seen. But when I printed it out, it looked dull and purple. So I'm going to have to tweak the digital file to get nice prints. Agh, the trials of digital! ;)
